The Appeal
Stories make cars.
And this BMW 3 Series has a belter of a tale to tell. Over to the vendor to explain:
"The BMW was only 5 years old when my Mum bought it in 1990; she gave it to me 20 years ago (so one owner before our family) because it sat in a covered garage and I promised to look after it. I drove it for a few years the garaged it my self for a number of years before getting it back on the road following extensive rub down and a respray, this was 6 years ago.
"Whilst getting work done it had a power steering kit fitted and full service. I then took it on a ‘road trip’ to the women’s world cup in France and drove it for a couple of Summers before garaging it again. I have all paperwork for parts that have been replaced over the year and all MOTs to prove the mileage for any potential buyer. It even has its original spare tyre and wheel and the tool kit is also complete.
"It drives perfectly, ‘like new’, and is now 40 years old so would qualify for road tax exemption. I have turned 60 and my wife and kids are downsizing and selling our holiday business in Northumberland and therefore reluctantly selling! I hope it finds a good home."
Fabulous provenance, we're sure you'll agree. As the photographs show, the car has accrued some time-earned patina, but it's very presentable example that can be driven straight away, with an MOT until 9th February 2026. The 320i inhabits a sweet spot in the E30 range, wit its fuel-injected 2.0-litre straight-six offering a nice balance between performance and sensible running costs. This one's a five-speed manual; certainly the drivers' choice.
