The Appeal

While its two-door 205 GTI sibling stole the limelight back in the '90s, discerning petrolheads secretly knew that the Peugeot 309 GTI was as good if not better to drive thanks to its longer wheelbase. Dynamics aside, it was a far more usable car - a GTI for all the family.

Us discerning petrolheads were a minority, however, so sales were poor for the unjustly overlooked 309 GTI which makes them very rare indeed. "How Many Left" reckons there are just 41 examples currently licensed on UK roads. Therefore, it's with great pleasure we present this lovely example from 1991.

Finished in striking Miami blue, this 309 benefits from copious care and investment during recent years. £5,000 has recently been spent at Pool Lane Classics, carrying out extensive renovation to the underside and rear running gear anf the car now has an advisory-free MOT which is valid until May 2025.
