The Plus
One of the most iconic generations of Porsche's legendary 911, the 964 was launched in 1989 and produced until 1993. A popular base for restomods by Singer or Ruf, this generation combined significant technical innovations with the classic silhouette we all know so well. The 964 was the first 911 to offer all-wheel drive and a Tiptronic automatic gearbox - but the example presented here, from 1991, is the highly sought-after rear-wheel drive Carrera 4 with 5-speed manual gearbox: the perfect choice for purists, then and now.
This 964 was imported to France from Germany and once belonged to the famous multi-Olympic medallist judoka David Douillet. It has a comprehensive service history and recently underwent a major overhaul. It's ready to hit the road, with a Technical Inspection valid until November 2026 to guarantee its reliability to its future owner.
Imported from Germany in 1996, then transferred to the Toulouse region
First French owner: judoka David Douillet
The previous owner acquired it in 2006 with 140,000 km, certified by a garage and confirmed by the history file
Full service history over the last twenty years, with numerous invoices and MOT certificates It has a full service history over the last twenty years, and has recently undergone a major overhaul
159,789 km on the clock
Service invoices and MOT reports attesting to its mileage
In the hands of the current owner for 4 and a half years, with extensive work carried out, including the complete replacement of the clutch
Very few defects to report: two small dents, one on the bonnet and the other on the front left door
Very presentable paintwork with few imperfections
No visible damage to the alloy wheels, only very slight marks
Pirelli tyres in good condition according to the seller
Full leather interior with Turbo seats
Light wear to upholstery consistent with age and mileage
Slight deformation of dashboard around air vents
Air conditioning in need of servicing
Modern DIN radio fitted
As the photos show, this is a particularly presentable example. It's becoming rare to see unmodified 964s today, and this well-equipped and well-maintained one is a real treat for enthusiasts. The black paintwork still shines beautifully, as do the original wheels and the period Turbo interior. There are a few signs of wear, but nothing of note.
Last MOT: fog lamps slightly pitted and shock absorber protection defective
Reconditioned starter and alternator
100-cell sport catalytic converter
The seller assures us that the Porsche handles very well on the road, with effective braking and a smooth engine. He explains:
"I've replaced the dual distributor belt, the jacks on the rear bonnet, and the entire clutch system (sender, receiver and its hose, flywheel, mechanism, clutch disc, thrust fork, etc.). Servicing has been carried out (engine oil change, oil filter, air filter, front axle oil and belts).
The starter motor and alternator have been reconditioned to new. A stainless steel exhaust system (100-cell sports catalytic converter, cup pipe and silencer) has been installed, giving the car a very nice sound.
This sale is subject to Car & Classic's terms and conditions. By bidding and/or making a bid, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, which means that consumer rights arising from European consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic's terms and conditions.
✓ We ask that a non-refundable fee is paid if you are the lucky winner of the auction or if your bid is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and terms and conditions for specific fees.
✓ This vehicle is "sold as is", on an "as is, where is" basis and without warranty. Photographs and descriptions are for illustrative purposes only and it is customary to carry out a full vehicle inspection prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final offer or tender price, as specified in the advert.
✓ We want the transaction to go as smoothly as you do, which is why UK-registered cars and motorbikes offered for sale on Car & Classic are HPI checked to ensure they have no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and are not financially pledged, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as part of a total loss at the time the advert is placed on Car & Classic and provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the status of the vehicle and it is always worth carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.

If an auction vehicle doesn't sell, it may be converted into a “Make an offer” listing. This will retain all of the details of the auction listing but replace the bidding functionality with an offering system whereby potential buyers can make an offer on the vehicle. To take the hassle out of the whole process and to prevent any unnecessary squabbling we'll automatically decline anything less than 70% of the asking price so only offers that are worth considering will be accepted. Make an offer listings include a “Make an offer” button. Simply click on this and enter the amount you’d like to offer and the seller will either accept, decline or counter. Easy peasy. If you don’t have a Car & Classic account with a registered bank card you’ll be prompted to set one up at this point.
If your offer is accepted, you’ll be charged a service fee. The amount depends on the cost of the vehicle and is an additional cost on top of the offer amount. Starting from as little as £/€300, it covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services, but rest assured, we're not in the woollen eyewear business and so the exact amount is always displayed upfront before you place your bid. You will only be charged if your offer is accepted.
The service fee is a charge in addition to any accepted offer amount that varies depending on the cost of the vehicle. Starting from as little as £/€300, the exact fee is clearly displayed upfront before any offer is placed so you always know exactly how much you'll be charged. It covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services and allows us to continue to provide a secure and professional platform from which to transact safely.
If you've ever squeezed a lemon then this'll be a doddle. Firstly you'll need to be logged in to your Car & Classic account and have added a valid payment card to your profile. Once these steps have been completed you can then make an offer by clicking on the "Make an offer" button on the listing page and entering your offer amount before clicking on the “Submit Offer” button underneath.
