The BMW E36 3-Series, once a controversial design by the ever-bold Pinky Lai, has matured into a sought-after classic, coveted for its boxy styling that - in one form or another - seemed to streamline the BMW fixtures while creating a bigger, more luxurious smoker. This 1996 BMW 328i Touring is a compelling example, its rarity amplified by being a transition model, combining the more potent M52 engine with the earlier model's unique styling.
