The E23 was BMW’s bid for executive glory. With the market practically sewn up by Jaguar and Mercedes, the 7-Series managed to offer something new and different: a big luxobarge with the driving dynamics of something far smaller.
It proved a big hit, especially the 735i with its ‘Big Six’ 3.4L engine. Thanks to their legendary reliability, most of these cars have been driven into the ground, so this 1984 car is a rare survivor and one in quite remarkable condition. It looks unmodified and factory standard and presents well in silver with its black velour cabin. The details impress too, like the ‘bottle cap’ alloys and real wood veneers.
