There are vehicles it would be a crying shame to restore. This is one of them. It has taken this 86" Series I Land Rover seven decades to look this good; acquiring a working patina and with it, tons of character.
The Series I is where the Land Rover story begins and is therefore among the most revered of all British utility vehicles. Early examples from the mid-1950s are increasingly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. This 1955 example comes with an appealing backstory: it spent much of its working life on a shooting estate before being laid up for several decades.
