The Appeal 

Imagine an MGA with the reliability and usability of an MGB. Fortunately, you don’t have to, because here it is. A lovely 1960 car, with all the delightful Mk1 details that has been carefully restored using MGB 1,798cc engine and gearbox, including overdrive. 
The result is a very usable MGA that would be perfect for long-distance road trips or classic events where it's high-geared cruising ability will come into its own. 
Beyond the appealing specification, the attractive British Racing Green and cream leather colour scheme is resplendent in the photographs. This car was extensively professionally restored upon its return to the UK in 2021 - including those mechanical improvements and a conversion to RHD. It has clearly been used sparingly and caringly since as the condition looks ‘restoration fresh.’ 
A standard Mk1 MGA is a fine motoring companion. A mechanically improved one like this is surely even better. 

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered 1960 as a LHD export market model 
  • Chassis records confirm this car as a 1960-built model 
  • Returned to UK in 2021 and re-registered here in March 2021
  • Restored in 2021 including conversion to RHD 
  • Two registered keeper since arriving in the UK 
  • Only now for sale as the vendor purchased as a gift for his wife, but unfortunately she can not get to grips with an older classic driving experience 
  • Lots of history according to to seller including handbooks 
  • Originally a Mk1 1600cc factory car 

The Condition

  • Restored in 2021 in British Racing Green metallic to high standard
  • Paintwork is in great order with few signs of use since restoration 
  • Bodywork presents well with flush panel fit and solid panels 
  • Very smart chromework, including the wire wheels 
  • Chrome rear luggage rack fitted 
  • Black roof and matching tonneau with side screens
  • Cream leather interior with black piping in very good retrimmed condition 
  • Factory standard interior including cream dash roll and dashboard
  • Moto Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel and wooden gear knob 
  • Factory tool roll included 

The Mechanics 

  • Fitted with a 1,798cc MGB 4cyl 95bhp engine 
  • 4spd Ford gearbox conversion with overdrive unit 
  • Engine and gearbox reportedly fitted in 2021 
  • Reported to be in very good mechanical health 
  • No reported running or driving issues
