The Appeal
The Karmann Convertible is widely regarded as one of the most desirable iterations of the Volkswagen Beetle. Coachbuilt by Karmann in Osnabrück, these open-top Beetles were produced in far smaller numbers than their tin-top siblings, and good examples have become increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. After all, taking the free-spirited, endlessly drivable Beetle and adding the wind-in-your-hair experience of a convertible is bound to be a seductive prospect.
This 1976 example is a Dutch-registered car from new, having had just two former registered keepers before the current vendor. It has recently undergone a comprehensive restoration encompassing both mechanical and cosmetic work, with documentation and invoices available. The interior is reported to be entirely original and in very good order, lending the car a strong sense of authenticity. It ticks plenty of boxes for any enthusiast!image00053.jpeg3.53 MB
