The Appeal
BMW Z3s are still a relatively common sight, but the Z3 M Coupé is an entirely different proposition. Nicknamed the "clown shoe" in reference to its distinctive appearance, these characterful driver's cars of the late 1990s, with their Its 3.2-litre straight-six, paired with a stiffened tin-top body and a five-speed manual gearbox, delivered a driving experience that few contemporaries could rival.
This 1998 example has covered just 11,954 miles. It was purchased from the insurance company when almost new after bonnet panel damage, and was subsequently dry-stored for many years by its previous owner, who kept it for sentimental reasons. Prospective buyers should note that the vehicle has a prior total-loss record resulting from this early incident, though the vendor confirms it has never had major structural issues.
Recently brought back into use, the car has been thoroughly checked over, with all oils refreshed, four new Continental tyres fitted, and the rear subframe bushes replaced with uprated poly items. The vendor describes the car as driving very tight, with the interior presenting well and showing no major wear in the usual areas. With its MOT in place until June 2027, this is a compelling opportunity to acquire a very low-mileage Z3 M Coupe.image.png1.57 MB
