The Appeal

In the world of classic cars, there is something exceptional in the unexceptional. There’s even a popular annual event entirely devoted to the idea. Few cars sum that up quite like Japan’s Golf - the Toyota Corolla. For decades it has put wheels beneath families, its reliability and longevity helping it weave its way into personal histories.

The Corolla’s durability means survivors are surprisingly common, but none quite like this remarkable example. As a very low mileage, entirely original and standard-specification 1.6GS it looks like a future FoTU concours contender. The joy of cars like these is that they work well as daily drivers but transform into conversation-starting show stars at the weekend. This one deserves to be cherished.
