Opis
Manufactured on August 11th, 1966, this genuine Series I 4. 2 OTS is a highly desirable example of the iconic E-Type, featuring all the hallmark early details sought after by collectors: glass-covered headlights, rear lights positioned above the bumpers, toggle switch dashboard, and triple SU carburetors.
Originally delivered in Opalescent Golden Sand over red interior, this particularly elegant and period-correct color combination perfectly embodies the spirit of the 1960s.
This car is fully matching numbers, including engine block, cylinder head, gearbox and chassis.
• Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming authenticity
• Acquired from an estate
The car presents today as a largely original and honest restoration project.
Although it has been repainted once in blue, the original Golden Sand paint remains visible in several protected areas, especially within the interior sections.
The red interior appears to be original.
The engine is currently disassembled, following the beginning of a rebuild:
• Crankshaft ground to first undersize and refinished to factory specifications, ready for assembly
• New bearings included
• Cylinder head pressure tested and approved
Additional work can be carried out upon request:
• Block reboring with new pistons
• Replacement of valve guides and seats with new valves
• Full engine rebuild
• Reinstallation of engine, gearbox and carburetors with delivery in running condition
The car stands out for being structurally sounder than most restoration candidates currently available:
• Boot floor: solid
• Floors and sills: original panels, showing corrosion at the extremities → replacement required (parts available)
The car is complete and highly original, offering an excellent base for a proper restoration.
• US title & Customs paid on our name
• Registration assistance available
• Worldwide shipping possible
