The Appeal
All 911s have something special, of course, but some are more so than others. This car is one of them.
If you haven’t yet checked the photos, note that it is one of the 1,523 ‘Olklappe’ models built only in 1972. These extremely rare cars rank among the most sought-after of the early air‑cooled 911s.
As an early E‑series road car, it benefits from the largest 2.4 L flat-six and the tougher 915 gearbox with the 5‑speed option. This rare oil-fill opening is due to Porsche moving the oil tank to balance weight and slightly improve handling. This car was first registered in the United States, later redirected to Europe and is now fitted with Weber twin carburettors in accordance with the European 911T spec.
It is a very stylish Targa recently repainted in metallic silver-grey with Fuchs wheels. Inside, there is Houndstooth-pattern leather, highly regarded by enthusiasts and in excellent condition. The paint has a few minor imperfections, but nothing untoward.
In 2025, the seller confirms the car received a full refurbishment by marque specialists, for a total of €14,000. The works covered the engine, the gearbox, the chassis and the carburettors. The works were carried out by specialists such as Dein Elfer and Stehmann Vergasser Technik. A detailed MOT adds extra peace of mind.
This 911T combines rarity, specification and recent maintenance, which will appeal to collectors.
