Successful as the first Porsche Boxster (986) was, it took Stuttgart a few years to fully exploit its potential and meet customer expectations for performance. With the arrival of the Boxster S, Porsche equipped its roadster with a 3.2-litre flat-six developing 250 bhp, delivering performance capable of rivalling its famous rear-engined sister, the 911.
