E-Type Series 1 FHC with 3. 8 L in absolutely concours condition with Matching Numbers
High-level restoration with Matching Numbers. Additionally, tailored during the restoration for the buyer by us with air conditioning discreetly fitted in the cabin, the JAGUAR CLASSIC 5‑speed gearbox and historically correct 6 x 15 inch Competition Curley Hub Wire Wheels and 205 tyres.
This also allows for comfortable cabin temperatures on longer summer journeys and a reduction in revs on the motorway, with simultaneously crisp and short gearing in the lower 4 gears.
The chassis number, engine number and gearbox number, the original Moss box present, correspond exactly with the Heritage Certificate. The colour combination Opalescent Dark Blue with a Red interior fits perfectly, looks stunning and has all the facets. Authentic, noble, sporty and cool.
This E-Type was born on 17 October 1962. It left the JAGUAR factory on 4 December 1962 and was shipped to the USA, New York. America had no serious sports cars of its own, loved the E-Type and had pockets full of money. As a result, almost 70% of the E-Types with left-hand drive were sold to the USA.
In 2021 this E-Type was found in incredible condition. With Matching Numbers, a very solid bodyshell and all important chrome components. Thanks to the excellent condition, a nut-and-bolt restoration was feasible. This restoration took 1½ years and 2, 300 hours of work by our specialists.
Every single screw was taken in hand, all cavities opened, only non-repairable bod parts were professionally cut out and replaced with new ones. Great care was taken to work exactly as the Jaguar factory did in 1962. All welds are correct, every detail is in its place and for the surfaces only tin rather than filler was used. A technique that today only a few specialists master and apply. The gaps and the surfaces, the flat panels speak for themselves. Two coats of clear coat were applied and additionally sealed with ceramic coating.
Delivered the E-Type in the colour Cream and interior Red. We chose an authentic 1962 factory colour combination. Opalescent Dark Blue was only available from the factory for the E-Type 3. 8 L until June 1964.
The engine was tested on an engine dynamometer before being installed in the E-Type. After the complete restoration was finished, we undertook extensive test drives before handing it over to the current customer. In the meantime, the lovely Coupe has covered a total of 1, 480 km. Thus, as new and at the same time run-in. This E-Type offers you the highest quality, enhanced comfort through air conditioning and the 5-speed gearbox and extraordinarily great driving pleasure.
A dream car in the 1960s just as today.
