Opis
The Volvo Amazon is widely regarded as one of the most iconic Swedish classics, admired for its timeless design, exceptional build quality, and outstanding reliability. This 1966 example is presented in an elegant dark blue finish complemented by a beautiful red leather interior, a particularly attractive and rarely seen color combination that perfectly enhances the character of the car.
Between 2016 and 2018, the Volvo underwent an extensive mechanical restoration and refurbishment. Virtually all major mechanical components were either renewed or professionally rebuilt, resulting in a car that offers both excellent reliability and an exceptionally well-maintained overall condition. The comprehensive work carried out during this period is fully documented with an extensive collection of invoices.
As part of the restoration, the car was upgraded in 2018 with a shorter-ratio P120 GT rear axle together with a selectable overdrive transmission. This desirable combination provides livelier acceleration while maintaining relaxed cruising at higher speeds, making the Amazon an enjoyable and practical classic for longer journeys as well as weekend drives.
The accompanying history file includes the numerous restoration invoices together with a professional appraisal report completed in 2024, further confirming the vehicle's excellent overall condition and careful maintenance.
Combining timeless Scandinavian design with extensive mechanical refurbishment and an exceptionally comprehensive documentation file, this Volvo Amazon represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a classic that is equally suited for touring, classic car events, and any distinguished collection.
