The Peugeot 201 didn't seem like the obvious choice to form the basis of a competitive race car - and yet it was. Beneath its classic, cubic looks lay a number of innovations, including an independent front suspension that gave it excellent handling.
Only 403 S and CS competition models were produced between 1931 and 1932, and this is a great replica to complete your collection with. These cars were powered by a 1085cc 4-cylinder engine developing 30bhp, which, combined with their light weight, offered lively performance.
This charming two-seater racing model is a fine example. As well as its elegant boat-tail silhouette in racing blue, it's the details that catch the eye - like the leather straps, black spoked wheels and turned dashboard.
It is in excellent condition and would run well according to the vendor, although a service would be recommended. For fans of authentic 1930s racing cars, it doesn't get much better than this.image.png2.58 MB
