The Appeal
The practice of 'Bobbing' motorcycles originated post-WW2, when young American riders would take ex-military Harleys and Indians and cut down the bodywork to lighten them for racing. These modifications created a unique aesthetic, one that would predate the 'Chopper' and other associated styles that emerged in subsequent decades.
In recent times, the 'Bobber' has undergone something of a renaissance, and here we have a wonderful custom creation by the respected bike builder Doghouse Custom.

This 1954 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet has been transformed into a striking Hardtail Bobber. What sets this machine apart is not just its aesthetic transformation but the meticulous attention to detail throughout the build process, with many components handcrafted specifically for this project. Completed in 2022, this motorcycle remains in stunning order, ready to meet its next (lucky) owner.
