The Appeal
Part of the joy of the classic Land Rover’s enduring appeal is the array of specialists to cater for the whims of any enthusiast. Among the most creative is Warwickshire-based Legacy, which restores and improves these models, all inspired, appropriately enough, by the Cotswolds countryside.
This 1965 Series IIA 88in has received the firm’s ‘Snowshill’ treatment, inspired by the beautiful hillside village of the same name. It has been extensively restored and renovated, including a full chassis strip down, and is finished in Limestone with a tan roof and interior. It is all very tasteful and completed to a high standard as the photos show.
The joy of the work is the firm's attention to detail, which cleverly retains what the factory did well but adds a legacy twist. Inspect the photos and you will note a bespoke teak rear deck, Marshall sound system and even a hand-turned wooden gear knob.

The Mechanics
- 2.25 petrol engine

- The overdrive increases fuel efficiency, enhances driving comfort by allowing a relaxed drive at higher speeds. It essentially provides a higher gear ratio so the engine will turn fewer times for the same distance traveled.
