Restored from a bare shell with Stage 3 engine upgrades
Approximately 3,000 miles covered since restoration
One of only 570 examples reported on UK roads as of 2020
In previous ownership for approximately six years
The Appeal
The MGC GT is the six-cylinder big brother of the significantly more common MGB GT, produced for just two model years between 1967 and 1969. Its 3.0-litre straight-six lends a more refined, long-legged character, which has seen the model grow steadily in popularity among enthusiasts who value its rarity and effortless cruising ability.
This 1969 example has undergone a ground-up restoration, including stripping the car back to a bare shell, a respray in MG Tartan Red, and rust-preventative treatment to the underside. The engine was upgraded to Stage 3 specification, the original gearbox and differential were rebuilt, and the suspension, brakes, wiring loom, interior, and much of the chrome were all renewed or replaced. Further details of the work carried out can be found below.
Having covered approximately 3,000 miles since restoration, the car has been in storage for the past couple of years. It starts, moves freely, and stops, but would benefit from a thorough service and recommissioning. image.png1.72 MB
