Carefully refurbished by a respected Porsche specialist
The Appeal
The Porsche 911 is a rare example of a car which has been endlessly honed and refined over decades of production. For many aficionados, early versions remain the purest distillation of the rear-engine/rear-drive configuration, while the Targa model was unveiled in 1967 to add open-air motoring to the 911’s roster of talents.
This particular 911 is the entry-level T, featuring the 2.2-litre engine synonymous with D-series models and capped by that coveted Targa roof panel. Manufactured in left-hand drive form, this car was imported into the UK in 1990 and has been with its most recent owner since January 1991. In late 2023, it was mechanically overhauled at a cost of over £6,500. Its period Fuchs wheels are shod in Falken and Goodyear tyres, while the diligently restored orange paintwork is broken up with a single driver’s door mirror and a black vinyl-trimmed roof.
The interior has fresh carpets and a Moto Lita steering wheel, though most of its fitments are original. These include five VDO dials with a central rev counter, and pull switches along the weave-effect dashboard panel. The cabin has black leatherette trim and textured dash/door card panels alongside new carpets and replacement front seats in period houndstooth fabric.
Paint now shows gentle patina in places, while eminently presentable

While this stunning-looking car has largely been preserved in original condition, it has been resprayed externally, while and a wooden gear knob and aftermarket Moto Lita steering wheel has been fitted; the original wheel will be supplied as part of the sale. New carpets and front seats have been fitted and present very well indeed, with a relatively modern stereo installed below a trilogy of original pull switches. The engine bay appears to be in good condition, while the bonnet is fitted with clean carpeting.
Engine and gearbox removed and refurbished in 2023
Original steering wheel and two spare wheels to be supplied
New gearbox housing, hoses and selector shaft seal
In recent years, this 911’s mechanical maintenance has been carried out by Porsche specialist Autofarm, who repaired the bodywork in 2022 and WaxOyled the underside pipework in 2021. In late 2023, the engine and gearbox were removed, with various hoses and clips fitted alongside a new selector shaft seal and gearbox housing cover; at the same time, the engine received a tune-up.
This sympathetically overhauled, well-sorted 911 represents a unique opportunity to own a time-capsule classic. image.png3.43 MB BEFORE YOU BUY
