The Appeal
Even though the R107 debuted in 1971, this generation of SL will always be remembered by many as the quintessential '80s Mercedes, with production lasting until 1989, such was the car's enduring popularity.
Designed by Friedrich Geiger before Bruno Sacco took over as chief designer at Mercedes, the R107 was destined to roam the boulevards or Beverley Hills and was seen as a status symbol for yuppie Americans as it came into its own during the '80s. And rightly so. The R107 was a sleek, handsome and well-engineered sports car that was available in myriad different specifications.
The car we have available is a 1975 450SL roadster, which means a 4.5-litre V8 under the bonnet and a convertible roof. With its rare Aqua Blue paint it's a bit of a head turner and comes with both hard and soft tops, so if you're looking to strut your stuff in a classic drop top Merc then this could be the car for you.
