The Appeal
Like all enduring classics, the Mini arrived fully formed and required little change during its long life. The only notable change was the switch to the ‘Clubman’ style front end to suite with other models in the Austin range. This saw the arrival of the 1275GT, British Leyland’s updated Cooper that avoided the need to pay John Cooper royalties.
None of this has stopped enthusiasts finding ways to bespoke and customise their cars, helped by an army of specialists.
This superb 1980 car started life as a 1275GT but has been extensively renovated and improved by its well-known owner. This work is documented on the popular Tasty Classics YouTube channel where this car is a regular star. It comes to us fresh from a bodywork and interior restoration and equipped with some suitably tasty MiniSport upgrades, including a 1400cc Stage 3 Red engine.
