The Range Rover has built up an impressive legacy over the years, originally designed as a road-going utility vehicle with luxury touches. Now, of course, the modern Range Rover is far from its roots, which leaves collectors and enthusiasts on the hunt for examples of the Classic. 
 
 This particular low mileage example offers an excellent opportunity for buyers, as somewhat of a blank canvas. See, thanks to the vehicles’ supposed salt-free past in South Africa, this Range Rover could make the perfect base for a restoration project. But at the same time, this beast is more than happy to be enjoyed as it currently is, with a few characterful signs of its age of course. 

This classic Range Rover hails from South Africa, where it has spent the majority of its life free from the UK’s salted roads. Over the years, the vehicle has also covered rather few miles and now shows just over 74K on the clock. 

Imported in 2021, this vehicle is now ready to find its next home, where it would make either an excellent restoration project or a perfectly usable motor as it currently stands. Although not a great deal of paperwork is present, the current keeper assures us that all relevant import documentation has been sorted and the vehicle is ready to be registered. 

As this Range Rover is one of the few yet to be restored, the interior shows off a mostly original finish. Fortunately, this offers quite a blank canvas for buyers. You can either use the interior in all its practicality without much worry about damaging a perfect finish, or you can take advantage of the endless possibilities for restoring/retrimming the interior as you please. 

Now, as the interior is original, there are of course signs of age to expect. As the photos reflect, a great deal of wear can be found with the passenger’s seat, although the driver’s seat and rear bench show far fewer signs of age. Given the state of the passenger’s seat, it seems rather likely that the driver’s seat has indeed received some TLC in the past. 

Carpeting throughout the cabin seemingly shows very few defects, although a good detail certainly wouldn’t go amiss. In fact, a great deal of the interior components could have years taken off them with a bit of elbow grease, or perhaps a professional’s touch. 

Although not a restored example, this Range Rover presents itself rather well for its age, showing off what is believed to be its original white finish.

As you would expect, the paintwork now shows signs of its age, in the form of the expected front end marks, slight imperfections to the arches, and various minor defects along the body. That being said, it’s still quite impressive for a nearly 40-year-old vehicle, and certainly wouldn’t look out of place amongst a usable collection. 

The vehicle sits on a set of aftermarket 16” wheels which finished in black, suit the beastly nature of the V8 Range Rover perfectly. The wheels are in great condition, and come wrapped in a set of BF Goodrich tyres All Terrain tyres with plenty of tread still left to enjoy. 

This Range Rover pairs its factory-fitted V8 with an upgraded 5-speed manual box to deliver a very characterful driving experience, packed with all the torque and charm of a big ol’ V8. This example also seems to show off a set of aftermarket shocks and springs, although specifics are currently unknown. 
 
 With no known issues to report and excellent mechanical health, this beast of a classic Range Rover is more than ready to impress its next lucky owner. 

As previously stated, this example presents a fantastic opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike, offering somewhat of a blank canvas. The vehicle would make a very solid platform for a restoration project, but could also serve as a dependable workhorse or enjoyable toy as it currently stands.
