The Appeal

The original Jaguar XJ was so good that even when this car was produced, 18 years after the first ones left the line, it set standards for ride and handling. And, of course, luxury.

None were more luxurious than this version, the Daimler-badged Vanden Plas. These cars got all the options the factory offered plus upgraded leather and a raft of tidy trim detailing. They came in special colours too, like the pretty Cobolt Blue of this car.

It is a very low mileage car with documented history. It retains its neat factory features like the GKN alloys and even the original factory Jaguar-branded radio cassette. There is plenty of recent work, including a £3,000 service and overhaul by specialist Surrey Jaguar Centre in November. Looking across the interior and exterior it presents very well. This is a sumptuous classic saloon you could easily show or simply enjoy.
