The Appeal
The Sapphire saloon may be more common and better known, but this is the RS Cosworth that Ford really wanted to build. The three door car was homologated for the road to deliver racing success, but Cosworth’s minimum engine order - 15,000 units - necessitated the more common four door cars.
So, for enthusiasts, this is the one to have. Many RS Cosworths have been tuned and modified, but this one is pleasingly entirely factory standard. Finished in popular Moonstone Blue metallic, it is in very good condition inside and out, the well kept grey fabric Recaro interior being a particular highlight.
The car has been part of a small collection for the last few years and little used. It was imported to the UK in 2018 from Italy and appears to have led a charmed life - the odometer shows 45,644 miles. We cannot confirm if this is genuine but the condition indicates it might be and the vendor also believes it is.
The 3dr RS Cosworth is one of the Fast Ford world’s greatest cars. This one looks well kept and very tempting.
