The Appeal

Land Rovers are amongst the most enduringly popular classics around thanks to their simplicity, rugged build quality and immense off-road capability.

Amongst the best decisions ever made by Land Rover during the car’s long history was to fit the Rover V8 engine, which found its way into the ‘Stage One’ and early coil-sprung models which followed during the 1980s. Here we have 1988 90 V8 pickup which has recently been restored to an immensely high standard.

With a great many parts replaced and upgraded, this is a supremely smart Land Rover that’s ready to be enjoyed. Elliot Land Rovers carried out the work, replacing the chassis, interior, gearbox, doors, wings and fuel tank. They also overhauled the V8 engine, and steering box, as well as upgrading the bearings and fuel system besides a whole host of other jobs.

We’re informed that the chassis underneath and all hollows have been heavily waxed

Reconditioned LT85 manual gearbox fitted
Complete exhaust including manifolds was aluminium metalized
New Timken bearings
New brake pipes, shoes, discs and pads
The cylinder heads were overhauled
Edelbrock intake manifold and carburettor fitted
New fuel tank
The vendor informs us that it runs and drives very well indeed
No apparent issues to report
