The Appeal
Only 1 or 2% of the 200,000 XJ40s built featured the specification displayed this car - namely a 5spd manual gearbox. It’s a shame so few buyers got to experience it, because it releases the XJ40’s more sporting nature.
The XJ40 is a stylish, comfortable executive express, but also a surprisingly agile and engaging drive, as the TWR-enhanced cars prove. This high specification Sovereign leans into the racing driving theme with its classic British Racing Green paint scheme. It is a really well kept car, the paintwork and black leather interior with walnut veneers all in good order for a 37 year old car.
Interest in the XJ40 is growing and this well-specified, extremely rare example looks like a rewarding daily driver or interesting weekend treat.
