The Appeal
Solidly built, with big proportions and executive interiors, the R107 became one of the definitive cars in Mercedes-Benz's back catalogue and one of the most enduring classics in history. Late cars like these are particularly desirable thanks to their galvanised bulkheads and general refinements, improving on an already superb piece of engineering.
This one, believed to be one of the last to roll off the production line, has been in the same ownership since 2007 and has been carefully stored in a heated garage for the past 12 years. Needless to say, it's thus in impressive condition, having clearly been cossetted by the vendor. Having been fully serviced in March with all fluids changed and driven just 40 miles since, this 300SL is now ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
