Agile, quick and reliable, the VW Golf MKII is everything you want in a car.

A great all rounder, the MKII provided a spacious, practical solution without losing looks or performance. This 1990 registered GTI 8V has had a very cared for life, with an extensive mechanical portfolio and regular maintenance. A hot hatch superbly put together.

First registered in August 1990 the car started its life in Helston, where it spent the majority of its life before a short spell in Devon before coming back to its home county.

The paperwork included ranges from service invoices, part invoices and MOT certificates, all confirming the car has been cared for methodically in all ownerships.

 
Inside the Golf you're greeted with a very understated and mature trim, black plastic dash and grey cloth with the familiar plaid seats are present and all in fabulous order.

Same goes for the carpet floor, great condition and no signs of wear, it's very hard to believe the car has done 111,000 miles. The only thing not standard is a posh, modern aftermarket stereo, which allows handsfree and apple car play but the original will come with the car.

An untouched parcel shelf is also present, which seems to be a rare thing on these cars!

    

The overall condition of the car is very good, the original blue paint is in good order and looks great in the spring sun, thanks to a recent polish we expect.

There are a few blemishes around the car, mostly minor and age related but the main thing that will need attention is the passenger door. The plastic rear arch surrounds also show a little use but you will get two replacements as well as a few other brand new trims and brand new original badges so you can give it that little spice up if needed.

The sunroof is operational and leak free and original steel wheels are in average condition. The general stance of the car is terrific, we believe the car has had replacement lowering springs installed which gives it a very planted appearance, a very popular modification on these cars.

We were informed the car runs and drives smoothly without issue or fuss, no doubt thanks to the regular maintenance carried out over its 30 year lifespan.

In its current ownership the cambelt was replaced, as were the brakes plus a general service and tune up. The car was started and manoeuvred a few times during our visit, each time was effortless.

The engines are renowned for their reliability and one that's been looked after as well as this one should fill any future potential owner with confidence.

A fun, practical and reliable car with retro styling with a few modern additions, a very appealing hot hatch that will go on for miles to come.
