In '80s, BMW recognised a growing appetite for larger cars, and began developing the 8-Series. Rather than being primarily focused on the experience behind the wheel, they focused on comfort and luxury - a real long-distance tourer that felt palatial and comfortable. It was an impressive, butter-smooth monolith of a machine, packed with an impressive V12 engine.
Sadly, the 8-Series arrived just in time for a financial crisis, and never quite hit the potential it deserved. The result is that it only sold 30,609 cars worldwide, and has now become a relatively scarce car.
Finished in an attractive blue metallic paint with a complementary two-tone leather interior, this 850i appears in fine order. With ASI registration, a valid ITV and plenty of its palatial luxury intact, it's the perfect addition to your touring fleet.
