The Appeal

Trust Porsche to create the 993. With funds tight, its engineers found ways to extend the life of the original air cooled 911. Typically, they reputedly changed 80% of the car in the process. This final version of the 911 is one of the best - revised engines and improved rear suspension mean they go and handle extremely well.

This convertible is one of the last of those final air cooled cars. It was first registered in June 1998 - three months after production ended - and has been exceptionally sparingly used in the intervening 27 years. It has covered less than 42,000 miles with five keepers, latterly spending 15 years with the vendor.

Finished in the fetching combination of Ocean Blue metallic with grey leather, it is in very good preserved condition. The high traffic areas in the cabin show slight age and there is a light scratch on the roof cover, but otherwise it wears its age lightly.

The history file shows regular servicing, but with little use in recent years it may benefit from a check over and service if you plan to put some serious miles on it. And that would be easy to do, because with its convertible top and versatile Tiptronic box, it is perfect for long distance continental touring.

The car comes to market with the reassurance of an advisory-free MOT to October 2025. The distinctive 911 plate is included.
