2009-2020 Remained mostly inactive, covering only 600 Miles
Subject of major work in 2020, fully re-commissioned, with engine, suspension, exhaust system and brakes overhaul
The interior presents really well, with the black perforated pneumatic AMG seats leather showing only modest wear on the bolsters and bases. There are no rips or other damage, and the rest of the interior trim is also in great shape.
The driver side interior wood trim is lifting very slightly from its backing and there is a small dent in the trim of one of the doors, both easy fixes.
Factory-fitted equipment includes electrically adjustable multi-contour front seats with memory settings and heating, climate control and cruise control.

This is a very good example of a W210 Mercedes which are notorious for corrosion attacking the car. This car is exceptional from that point of view.
The classic Mercedes Brilliant Silver paintwork is all clean and free from any dents or major imperfections. The body panels are all straight and the chrome and rubber trim around the car is all in good condition.
There are some stone chips at the front and one on the roof, the spoiler has a few small scratches, there is some minor damage to the outside edge of the driver’s door, but overall this is a remarkably well-presented example.
It sits squarely on 18-inch AMG ‘monoblock’ alloy wheels, one of which has a small scratch, and they all have good tyres fitted.
Glass and lights are all clear with no cracks or chips, bumpers are nice and straight and the boot contains the spare wheel and its full set of original tools.IMG_1952.JPG4.55 MB

The last full Mercedes service and stamp in the impressive accompanying service book, was done in 2009 with a mileage of 97,212.
After 12 years of relative inactivity it has had a huge amount of work to bring it up to its current mechanical condition.
Essentially of sound structure underneath the car has had many new genuine parts fitted as part of its re-commissioning and renovation in 2020.
It’s a big list, but the major items included a new windscreen with rain sensor, new wheels, full engine service, gearbox service, new engine mounts, new roll-bar links, new radiator, water pump and thermostat, new timing chain, tensioners and belts, new battery, new oil pump and all fluids replaced.
The suspension and brakes were completely renovated and any small problem with the car fully addressed and rectified. The car has also been "de-catted" by the previous owner - as a result it growls a lot more than other E55's and sounds more aggressive. It also benefited from a £6,000 exhaust update (see invoice from Mercedes)

The Summary
This Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is a well-preserved example of a true modern classic.
The upgraded AMG sports exhaust system produces a fabulous sound from the V8 engine and AMG have made sure that there’s plenty of power and grip available.
This car further benefits from the factory fitted option of the tighter sport suspension set up and having the excellent Mercedes five-speed automatic gearbox.
