The Appeal
Like certain querulous gentlemen from the Iberian peninsula, nobody expected the Audi TT. Cleverly evolving the original NSU TT aesthetics using Golf running gear, the revered BAM engine and, of course, Quattro AWD technology delivered a coupe quite unlike anything else on the market.
There are many flavours of Mk1 TT, but the one you really want is the 180bhp Quattro with its brutally quick performance and limpet-like handling. These cars are so usable that it is a surprise to discover this example, which had covered less than 34,000 miles in its 22 years.
The car spent its life on Guernsey before arriving here in late 2024. Finished in the unusual and attractive combination of Mauritius Blue metallic with optional Granite Nappa leather, it is in good, original condition and presents well in the usual TT check areas.
The service history verifies the mileage, showing a run of 10 stamps up to September 2024 when the clutch was replaced. The current MOT runs to September 2025 and supports the sense of a solid, well-kept car.
You’re unlikely to find an early 180 TT with this sparing use any time soon, so don’t let this one get away.
