THE APPEAL
The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class debuted in 2002 and was true to the model’s roots – a large, sturdy executive saloon with exceptional ride quality and a hewn-from-granite build.
Whether as a cossetting saloon or an ultra-useful estate, the W211 was one of the best cars of its era and today the nicest survivors are very much sought-after. This is one of them – a nice example in a good high-end specification.
The car is presented in great order and comes with what was once at £3,750 option – the Mercedes-Benz twin panoramic roof, for which the uptake in the UK was unsurprisingly quite small. It has covered just over 80,000 miles, all in the hands of one doctor owner from new.

The machine has always been serviced at Mercedes Benz Main dealer bar the last two services. The last two being at a MB Specialist on 15th August 2019 at a cost of just over £450. The latest service was done at the same MB Specialist on 20th July 2021 at 74,184 which means this car wont need a service for some time yet. The car drives very well and does not appear to want or need anything.
Trimmed in immaculate Charcoal leather, it’s obvious from the overall condition that this is a genuine car. It’s in terrific order, with a cabin that still looks inviting and fresh today.
Everything works including the dual-zone climate control and electric sun blinds covering the panoramic roof, the front part of which can be opened up for the full alfresco experience.
There is also a set of original Mercedes-Benz over mats and fold-down rear seats – a useful option.
Other desirable extras include a self-dimming rear-view mirror, CD changer, Mercedes-Benz COMAND sat nav and infotainment and the original black Mercedes-Benz over-mats.
The W211 is finished in smart Brilliant Silver, one of the best colours for a Benz of the period, and is in excellent overall order with no major blemishes to the paintwork or panels. It’s very smart and presentable with no obvious issues.
The paint stull retains a deep and glossy shine and there no major issues, just a few light kerbing marks on the alloy wheels to detract from an otherwise fabulous external appearance. BACK.jpg1.66 MB

Under the bonnet you’ll find Mercedes-Benz’s proven and popular 2.6-litre V6, found in all manner of models from the C-Class through to the SLK sports car.
It’s a lively, smooth and responsive unit developing 224bhp, which in this example works in tandem with a five-speed auto transmission.

SUMMARY
Good W211s are getting fewer and further between, making this well-loved example a rare beast, especially given the one owner from new provenance. It’s a car that’s not only a worthwhile future investment, but also one that you can use and enjoy every day. A great retro-daily or future classic, with a detailed and impressive history file.
