The 996 was arguably Porsche coming into the modern era and the model that saw them say goodbye to the old air-cooled engine and familiar styling and hello to the refreshed, technologically driven cars that are now the norm in the automotive world.

The beautiful sports seats are finished in Savannah leather and contain the usual wear creases, with a couple of marks on the front also present.
A few indentations and marks can be found on the back of these front seats but otherwise, they are as comfortable and supportive as the day they left the factory.
It is a typical Porsche inside, very stylish but purposeful and simple.
The black carpet adds a little texture to the interior arrangement, adding a layer to the otherwise single shade styling. Porsche certainly knows how to put together an interior, from the styling to the colour, it's superb.
Finished in Metallic Black, this 996 is presented pleasantly. We took time to go round and spot any blemishes with the only noticeable area present on the bonnet which has been photographed.
Otherwise, this Carrera is in great condition. The electrically controlled roof looks great, albeit showing some storage marks, however, it operates seamlessly.
The 18’’ split rim alloys are a suitable addition to the car, with two wrapped in new Pirelli rubber.
This 996 is the later generation variant released in 2002 and looks superb in the sunshine, the combination of black paint and tan interior provides the car with an aesthetic attitude to match that delightful 3.6L.
On request, the 3.6-litre fired up with no issue and issued a joyful sporty note.
The car was manoeuvred a few times for the photography and the automatic gearbox felt smooth and easygoing. We let the car run for a few minutes and it idled pleasantly, with no problematic or concerning sounds.
In July 2022 an extensive service and inspection were carried out by Specialists Colwills Garage in Bude.
This is a fine example of the late 996 with a great mechanical record plus recent bills for mechanical maintenance.
A car built for performance but can happily perform as a daily driver, providing ample comfort and capability in all conditions.
