The Appeal
The Cooper S catapulted the MINI, quite literally, to the front of the Noughties hot hatch pack. 170bhp from its supercharged 1.6L engine matched to go-kart handling means these early BMW Minis are amongst the best small drivers’ cars of the last 25 years.
For all those reasons, most have been driven into the ground. This car, thankfully, seems to have survived that fate, presenting today in usefully factory-standard specification and with less than 60,000 miles recorded.
The history file shows that it has been well-maintained, a run of servicing to 2024, then followed by remedial repairs to track rod ends, steering rack boots, brake lines and a wheel bearing. The clutch was replaced in 2020. Further evidence of its condition is provided by the advisory-free MOT that runs to the end of May 2026.
Finished in popular black with a matching interior, this is a fine introduction to an entertaining British modern classic.
