THE BACKGROUND
Launched in 2005, the Volvo C70 is a two-door sports compact, with a retractable hardtop. The roof is manufactured by Pininfarina, and developed by Webasto, who together produced the three section roof which lowers in just under 30 seconds.
The C70 chassis itself is based on the Volvo S40 platform, which is actually the Ford Global C-car Platform used by Ford Volvo and Mazda for various models, sharing around 60% of their components. Sticking with Volvo tradition and putting safety first, the C70 comes with ROPS (roll over protection system), which is two hoops that deploy in the event of a roll over. In total 88,760 C70 were sold between 2006 and 2015, and it's quite a safe bet that there won't be too many with this low mileage.

THE HISTORY
This lovely 2007 Volvo C70 has been owned by the same person since the day it rolled out of the H.R. Owen showroom, on the 28th September 2007. Since then it has covered an incredibly low 16,116 Miles.
Living in London all of its life, the Volvo has seen a couple of light scrapes to the corners of both the front and rear bumpers. These have now been repaired prior to the car becoming available, along with the 14 year service carried out at 15,396 miles.
THE PAPERWORK
The V5 is present and shows there have been 0 previous keepers, and there are two keys present.
There is the owner’s handbook, wallet and the all important service book, which shows the Volvo has been serviced religiously at two main Volvo dealers, regardless of the miles.
THE INTERIOR
Inside the C70 is, as you can imagine with such low miles, in excellent condition There is some very light age related wear to the driver’s bolster, mainly just to the edge of the stitching where the colour has come off. The driver’s seat squab has a slight amount of stretching to the leather, but very minimal. The passenger seat is excellent with just a small light scratch, which could easily be made good by a leather technician.
The rear seat hasn't seen much, if any use in its 16,116 miles, and so is excellent. Trimmed to match the seats and dashboard, the doors cards are both in good order with just a couple of scuffs to be seen on the lower front section.
To the dashboard, and again as you would expect, there are no warning lights displayed, and it is free from any scuffs which we could see. The instruments are all working as they should and the odometer is displaying a reading of 16,116.
The carpets to the front and rear have a set of C70 mats fitted, which are in good order, and these have obviously kept the carpets immaculate. In the boot the carpet panels do have a couple of light marks on them, which should come out with some upholstery cleaner. There is the first aid kit present along with a Volvo aftercare kit, which looks to be mainly unused.
THE EXTERIOR
As mentioned, the Volvo has spent all of it’s time until now in London and has suffered a couple of very light scuffs to the front and rear corners of the bumpers. The car is very well presented. It does have some light scratches here and there, possibly made more noticeable with the car being in black. However, some of these do look like they could machine polish out or be reduced by a professional detailer.
The front has very little, (if any), stone chips as you would expect. The driver’s side headlight does have a small crack in the corner and the headlight washer cover is stuck down. The bumper and bonnet align nice and straight. There are a few very light scratches on the bonnet, as mentioned, but these may polish out.
Around to the sides, and there are just a couple of very, very light dents, one to the passenger door and one to the wing. They are there but can only be seen if you catch it in the right light. A small scuff is present on the door mirror cover. Looking from the side, the doors align equally around all the edges and to both sides. The roof operates quietly going both up and down, perfect for that crisp sunny morning.
The rear of the Volvo is also in good order. Parking sensors are factory fitted and the rear lights are free from any splits or cracks.
THE MECHANICS
The 2.4 litre diesel runs very nicely, as you would expect with a full service history and such low miles. The C70 is fitted with an automatic gearbox. Again, with just run in mileage, the car drives and changes gear as near to new as you can get for a 2007 vehicle.
THE APPEAL
The perfect one owner car, with just 16,116 miles, and serviced by just two Volvo main dealers with a fully stamped book.
The only thing left to do is push the button, wait for the electric hard top to drop, and set off into the sunset.
