The Appeal
Many people consider the W211 E-Class a return to form for Mercedes-Benz. Beautifully engineered with a view for long-distance, easy cruising, the motoring press celebrated it as being far closer to the company's over-engineering values of the 80s, while still being packed with ritzy tech and comfort features that suited their younger userbase.
It was fast, too. Far lighter Jaguar products of the same era such as the Jaguar S-type couldn't keep up with it, and for many it only went one step further to prove the new Merc's supremacy. It was safe. it was speedy, it was graceful and it proved remarkably rewarding, even rather forgiving to drive.
It's little wonder we don't see them come to market all that often - an E-Class owner often becomes one for life. So when this special number, decked out to the nines with options and features, arrived at C&C, we were naturally excited.
