The Appeal
There are few cars as Iconic as the Land Rover, with worldwide recognition the Land Rovers have proven to be some of the most capable and hardy vehicles on the planet. The first Land Rover was built in 1940 and since then subsequent refinement over generations have given us the Defender we know and love today. Production of the original Defender ended in 2016 with a highly revised new version finally being released in 2020.
This low mileage Defender is one of the last of that generation and with only one owner from new and in fantastic condition throughout it presents a great opportunity to acquire one of these legendary vehicles. Being a 90 and the XS it’s a fully-loaded and highly capable off-road machine and finished in metallic grey it looks simply fantastic. Few cars have the worldwide reputation that the Defender does, and they don’t come much better than this.

The interior of this Defender presents excellently throughout, having covered only 32,000 miles and clearly having been well cared for by its one owner it’s in fantastic condition.
Climbing up into the cab and looking down the square-edged bonnet you know this is a car that means business. Highly capable off-road, the later Defender provides a much more refined driving experience than its earlier predecessors, making for a much more pleasurable on-road driving experience.
The utilitarian dashboard presents very well and the gorgeous Alcantara headlining is in similarly excellent condition. The red and black leather sports seats both present very well, with the only imperfection being the small split to the lower bolster of the driver's seat.

The distinctive shape of the Land Rover from the early series through to the Defenders is one that is recognised the world over. Finished in metallic Grey it looks fantastic from any angle and features the Defenders iconic utilitarian styling. The paintwork, wheels, trim, lights and every other aspect of the exterior present excellently and it is clear to see that this is a very well cared for vehicle.

As with the rest of this car the mechanical aspect all present very well. The modern 2.2l diesel engine is a far cry from the smokey and rattley Land Rover engines of old, smooth and refined it offers plenty of torque whilst offering a quiet and easy driving experience on the road.
The engine bay is clean and tidy and the underside looks brilliant. The car starts on the turn of the key and idles smoothly with no unwanted noises. The owner informs us that it drives exactly as it should, accelerating well and braking straight and quick.
