Automobilia - Markus Haub, Jaguar E-type II, Original Oil Painting

Appeal

Capturing the essence of one of Jaguar’s most famous and well-regarded racing cars, this handsome and striking painting is a wonderful homage to the E-Type Low Drag Coupé. Created by Markus Haub, one of the finest motorsport artists working today,

About The Artist

Markus Haub, born in Mainz, Germany in 1972, is one of the most respected current motorsport artists. A skilled traditional artist as well as digital creative, Markus studied at the Pforzheim School of Design. He later interned with a number of car makers and studios before starting his career proper at Volkswagen Group, then later moving to Renault where he worked for some years as a designer.
These days, he exhibits all over Europe and is regularly to be found showing his work at Goodwood, Le Mans and the Nürburgring.

About The Artwork

An oil-on-canvas piece, presented in a black frame, Markus’ style reflects the subject matter well. Despite the subject being still, it has a real sense of speed and motion from Markus’ choice of composition and brushwork. The diagonal splash of red and even the choice of typeface neatly hint at the car’s association with 1960s motorsport.
The subject itself is the legendary E-Type Lightweight – the Lindner/Nocker streamlined ‘Low Drag Coupé’ – which raced to such great effect at Le Mans, the Nürburgring and Montlhéry.
Canvas stretched over frame, complete with the artist’s signature front and back, and the original gallery labels to the reverse, the painting has a finished size of 39.4” (100cm) square. It is finished with a modern and handsome black frame, with an overall size of 42.5” (108cm) square.
Beautifully realised and carefully finished, this would make a fine addition to any motorsport collection.

Summary

Proudly putting one of Jaguar’s finest creations front and centre, this lovely piece of original motorsport art, crafted by one of the great modern practitioners, is ready to find a new home and be admired for many decades to come.
