Launched in 1935, the R17 was one of the first BMW motorcycles to be fitted with telescopic front forks and 4-speed gearbox
Pressed steel frame and an OHV engine producing 33bhp, making it the most powerful BMW produced at the time
Only in production for 3 years with a total of 436 produced, making the R17 a rare and collectable machine
This project has been stored for over 50 years and never completed
Being 'sold as seen', parts included as photographed
Large file included containing original R17 manual and parts book, numerous reprint documents, BMW motorcycle books, BMW club magazines, some correspondence, and an old unrelated BMW R17 V5
