The Appeal

The design of Citroën's mid-century models is worthy of an art gallery. With innovative design at the heart of their DNA, the DS and ID were futuristic, saucer-shaped pieces that defied the more conservative styles of its European competitors. The result of a bold enterprise, aided by a host of technical innovations, the DS and ID were models of perfection. To this day, the model is considered one of the most important French cars in history.

This particular example from 1971 is reported to be a former ambulance, and has been in the possession of the current owner for over 15 years, and has since been transformed into a 7-seater configuration. The result is a particularly spacious estate version, rarer than the saloon versions and still remarkably ahead of its time.
