The Appeal

The Ford Escort RS2000 has always held a special place in automotive history, especially amongst enthusiasts of classic fast Fords. Launched in the late '70s, the RS2000 quickly became renowned for its performance, styling, and driving dynamics. This RS2000 Custom, with its distinctive ‘Droop Snoot’ front end, represents one of the most iconic variations of this beloved and sought after model.

This particular example, restored around 15 years ago, stands out due to its meticulous upkeep and originality. With a documented history that stretches back to 1990, including an engine rebuild in 2009 it’s clearly been a well cared for car. It’s in fantastic condition, both mechanically and aesthetically, making it a superb candidate for collectors and enthusiasts alike. With its rally-inspired looks, iconic Pinto engine and a ton of 70’s style both inside and out, it’s as good as classic Fords get.

It’s evident that this car has been exceptionally well cared for since its restoration. From the decals to the seats, every aspect of this RS2000 presents very well. The colour scheme couldn’t be more appropriate for the 70’s styling and it makes for a car that looks good from every angle. Both the interior and exterior have been both restored and maintained to a very high standard whilst remaining highly original, with only the stereo having been changed for a more modern unit.

The mechanical aspects of this RS2000 Custom are as equally impressive as the interior and exterior. Having had an engine rebuild in 2009 and covering few miles since, it’s no surprise that the engine runs smoothly and that the owner reports the car as driving extremely well. A quick look underneath reveals the same level of attention has been paid to the mechanical aspects of the car with everything on the underside presenting very well from the bump stops to the exhaust.
