The Appeal

Those who buy a Jaguar do so because they want a prestigious car, but those who choose a Daimler want an even more luxurious car. The Daimler version of the XJ40 was very expensive in its day, which makes this low-mileage example a particularly rare and desirable car.

White with a black satin-finished roof, this Jaguar appears well cared for and tidy. The interior is particularly impressive, with its fine leather upholstery, specific to Daimler models, rear tables and fully functional digital dashboard. This car was originally sold in Malta but has been in Italy since 1992, and has always been kept in the garage.

The seller informs us that the car is in perfect condition, but suggests changing the oil and filter.

The Condition

• Gleaming white paintwork and black roof with satin effect
• Original factory plates indicate that the original colour was Solent Blue (code JFJ)

• The bodywork appears solid, even in the critical points typical of the XJ40, such as wheel arches and underbody

• Among the defects are some localised bubbles at the base of the rear window and in other places
• The chrome appears to be in good condition overall, but there is some dulling on the bumpers
• Both bumpers show marks at the corners, as shown in the photos
• The headlights appear to be well maintained, but the rear fog lights integrated into the bumper are slightly damaged
• It retains the characteristic Daimler trim, including the front grille, rear frame and side protection strips
