The Appeal

As good as the R107 SL was, after eighteen years, it was looking rather old-fashioned. Fortunately, Mercedes-Benz's replacement was anything but.

The R129 was a technological tour de force, with advanced safety features, a plethora of modern conveniences and one of the cleverest automatic roof mechanisms the world had ever seen.
