The Appeal
When the XJS launched, it bucked a lot of expectations. The market expected a replacement for the enormously popular E-Type - perhaps a modernised roadster, sure, but a small, agile sports car all the same. When the big, buttress-laden grand tourer arrived, it raised a lot of eyebrows.
It's just as well Coventry stuck to their guns. The XJS held the public zeitgeist for over twenty years, and continues to be one of those bread-and-butter classics. For decades, these were a highly aspirational, ritzy car for the well-to-do, and now, they're an accessible classic that's still eminently drivable on the modern network.
