The Appeal
Alfa Romeo’s 156 GTA was much more than a badge-engineering exercise. Each of the 2,984 saloons was hand-built on a dedicated production line. No surprise then that these cars are increasingly sought-after by collectors.
The GTA took Walter Da Silva’s saloon masterpiece and added a body kit by historic Italian styling house Stola. But at its heart was Giuseppe Busso’s superlative 250bhp 3.2L V6. Manual and automatic Selespeed gearboxes were available.
This 2002 GTA surely ticks all the buyer boxes. It is desirable saloon in Alfa Red with the vital 6spd manual box, all the better for exploiting that beautiful engine. The car was first registered in Switzerland and arrived in Poland in 2023.
Since its arrival it has been treated to an extensive cosmetic and mechanical overhaul. Highlights include a full respray, refurbished Teledials with new Pirelli tyres and renovation of the underbody. The car was then entrusted to marque specialist Mr Alfa who conducted a thorough inspection. This resulted in new timing an accessory belt, engine bay refurbishment, air conditioning repairs and other minor improvements.
With all that work, this is one impressive GTA. It has covered under 110,000 kms from new and comes to market with its original factory Bose sound system and a valid Polish MOT.
