The Appeal
The Peter Stevens redesign of the Impreza WRX may be known as the ‘blobeye,’ but it’s a really nicely resolved and handsome the capable second generation model. This ‘widetrack’ STI adds WR Mica Blue paintwork, STI gold alloys and a STI front splitter to deliver a classic look that we know will appeal to enthusiasts. We are told it was factory fitted with optional xenons, yellow fog lights and a DCCD diff.
The car arrived in the UK earlier this year and is in very good condition. Since arrival we’re told that it has been fully detailed inside, outside and underneath and those distinctive alloys fully refurbished and fitted with genuine STI centre caps. The rims are shod with new Toyo Proxes R888 performance tyres.
Mechanically there is a long list of recent work. This includes new timing belt, attention to the brakes and cooling systems and, of course, a full service. The MOT runs to June 2026 with no advisories. The car has covered barely any miles since the test.
This feels like a turnkey Impreza in the right spec where someone else has done all the hard work so that you don’t have to.
