The Appeal
The 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood is one of the most visually striking American wagons ever produced. Its angel-eye taillights and sculpted rear wings define the pinnacle of late-1950s GM design, while the enormous rear bay made for a surprisingly versatile machine. The Brookwood was snapped up as everything from a light-commercial goods-toter to a hunting trip gun-carrier.
This example has undergone a body-off restoration, with the underside reported to be in good shape and components renewed throughout. The original 283 engine has been replaced with a 7.4-litre Chevrolet 454 V8 producing about 300 bhp, paired with a TH350 automatic transmission. An airride suspension system lets you adjust the stance, and it sits on polished 20" and 19" Torque Thrust rims. The car runs on LPG and is fitted with power steering.
Inside, the custom interior features bespoke door panels, carpet, headliner, and seats. Dutch-registered and sold under the margin scheme, this is a scarce opportunity for a highly unique, characterful American classic.brookwood59 airride (33).JPG2.84 MB
