The Appeal
The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was a landmark for the marque when it arrived in 1965, replacing the separate-chassis construction of its predecessors with a modern monocoque design. Its self-levelling suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and 6.2-litre V8 offered a comfortable package that set a new standard; it wasn't long before the Silver Shadow became synonymous with luxury.
This 1969 example stands apart thanks to its very well-documented history. A complete run of tax discs from 1976 to 2014, decades of MOT certificates, and a chronological trail of service invoices - beginning with main dealer P.J. Evans from new - build a picture of a car that has never fallen out of regular use.
Under its current ownership since early 2021, having been purchased from Graeme Hunt in London, the car has undergone extensive mechanical recommissioning covering the braking system, suspension, steering, engine, carburettors, cooling system, electrics, and transmission. A full respray, documented photographically from strip-down to completion, has been complemented by paint protection film across the bodywork. New seals throughout, rebuilt door mechanisms, and functioning window electrics round out the work carried out.
Now, this handsome car is ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper. IMG_1857.JPEG1.6 MB
